SIA Compliant Security Guarding Course Introduction This course is based on the Security Industry Authority's Specification for Core Competency Training and Qualifications for Security Guarding. The successful achievement of this course is a requirement for security officers intending to apply for an SIA Licence to Practice. Programme Overview Duration: 26 hours of delivered learning over a four day period or weekends and/or evenings. Assessment: Part 1: Working in the Private Security Industry (10 hours) · Know the purpose and main features of the private security industry. · Understand the legislation that is relevant to people working in the private security industry · Understand relevant aspects of health and safety in the workplace · Know how to apply the principals of fire safety · Know how to deal with non-fire related emergencies · Understand the principals of effective communication and customer care in the private security industry Part 2: Working as a security Officer (8 hours)
